The brief
SBFM was relocating to a new head office in Leeds and wanted onsite gym provision that genuinely supported employee health and helped attract the best local talent. They needed a partner to design the facility, put governance in place, and manage it professionally from day one.
What we delivered
Richard spent 22 years in health and fitness, including 13 years at PureGym — the UK's largest gym operator — in senior leadership roles across operations, product, gym design, and equipment strategy.
As Head of Gym Format & Equipment, Richard was accountable for the gym format strategy across all markets, equipment procurement and supply chain for 600+ gyms and 50,000+ assets, and an annual equipment budget of over £20 million. He led complex group-level supplier contracts, developed new gym concepts, and guided format initiatives from conception through to delivery.
Before that, as National Product Manager, he owned the fitness product across every UK site — equipment, group exercise, personal training, and the overall member experience.
That background means LG Wellness approaches workplace health the way a seasoned operator would — with a focus on governance, consistency, and delivery that works at organisational scale.
